Mount the brush at your cat’s shoulder height, on a corner they already use: hallway, kitchen doorway, end of the sofa. Rub a little catnip into the bristles on day one to build the habit; it usually sticks within a week. Clear the collected hair once a week and rinse the brush in lukewarm water. For long-haired cats it complements hand brushing rather than replacing it, especially through the spring and autumn moults.
