Feather Cat Wand Toy

At last, a present the cat prefers to the wrapping paper: the feather wand, hunted every evening.

Five minutes of wand play a day covers an indoor cat’s need to hunt: it stalks, crouches, pounces and catches. Round here the ribbon on the parcel lasted three minutes; the wand has come out of the drawer every evening since. The elastic cord gives the feathers an unpredictable flight, the bell announces the prey, and your hands stay clear of the claws.

Colours: grey, blue or pink. Store the wand out of reach after play to prevent cord ingestion.

Imitate prey, not a helicopter: make the feathers vanish behind a piece of furniture, let them quiver, then flee low along the floor. A cat hunts what escapes, not what attacks it. Always finish with a successful catch and, if you can, a small portion of food: stalk, catch, eat is the complete sequence that satisfies the instinct. Check the elastic cord before each session and replace the attachment once the feathers are pulled out.
