Filtered Dog Water Bottle

Filtered dog water bottle: the one thing that always stayed on the hall table as we left.

A press of the thumb fills the trough; let go and the surplus runs back into the bottle rather than onto the pavement. Round here it has hung by its wrist strap on the lead hook since the Sunday the dog drank from a puddle in the car park; the two have left the house together ever since. Food-grade BPA-free plastic, a replaceable activated carbon filter, and it comes fully apart for washing.

A ten-kilo dog drinks roughly half a litre a day, more in summer or after exercise: offer water every twenty to thirty minutes of walking in the heat, in small amounts rather than one big gulp after a run. Rinse the bottle every evening and change the filter according to use, on average every two months. Above all it saves your dog drinking from puddles and standing water, often contaminated in summer.
