Catnip Kicker Toys

A catnip kicker for the great evening expedition, from the rug to the foot of the sofa.

Your cat grabs it with the front paws, bites and bunny-kicks with the back ones: the hunting instinct and the nine o’clock surge go into the toy rather than your ankles. Roughly one cat in three does not respond to catnip, often before six months of age: if yours ignores it, try again a few weeks later. Put the toy away between sessions; a kicker left on the floor loses all its appeal within a week. To revive the scent, seal it in an airtight box with a little dried catnip for a few days. Check the seams regularly and remove the toy as soon as it tears.
