Let your pet get used to it gently: run the unit in the room without touching them for two or three sessions, reward calm, then approach along the back and flanks before any sensitive area. Empty the canister once it is two-thirds full to keep the suction strong, and rinse the filter under clear water every two or three uses, letting it dry completely. The clipper blades appreciate a drop of oil after several cuts.
