Hands-Free Dog Bike Lead

Dog bike lead: your dog trots 40 cm clear of the wheel and both your hands stay on the bars.

The rigid arm mounts on the seat post and its spring takes up the jolts: a sudden lunge does not unbalance the bike. Round here, the dog rated the bike slow for the first lap of the block, then asked for a second. Steel arm, adjustable nylon lead, no tools needed.

Use with a harness, never a collar. Suited to dogs of 10 to 40 kg that already walk well on a lead. Colour: black.

Start on foot, wheeling the bike, over a few hundred metres, then ride very slowly on flat open ground before going out on the road. Keep the first outings under fifteen minutes and always set the pace to the dog, never the other way round: an easy trot, never a sustained gallop. Avoid hot tarmac in summer and check the pads afterwards. For healthy adult dogs only, once growth is complete.

Off in a second, one wipe with a cloth, and the arm comes back as new; the dog, slightly less so.
